I'm sorry, Livejournal. You seem to have gone the way of Opendiary, Faceparty, Friendster and MySpace (except for music). Your music, however, is in the Comms. LJ comms are still rocking.

I'm in France now.
Here is my Other Blog: Tea & Sarcam

It's less whiny. I promise.

Writer's Block: Kill the music

What is the absolute worst song ever written? For what amount of money would you consider listening to it over and over again for 24 hours?

It's probably not the worst song ever written, but I'd have to be offered something mighty tempting like my entire student loans paid off in full to have to listen to James Blunt's "You're Beautiful" for an hour, let alone 24 of them. His voice grates on me so so much and the song is dreary.

Sharpie self-portrait II

Dear LJ,

Last night I drew a couple of self-portraits. This is my favourite.

Jun. 22nd, 2007

Hello, this is Nic/Nicola/Nicsi/Spookie I have changed my name from _sleepflower to not_waving. I've only changed the name - not gotten a new journal, I don't want to purge my past, as much of it is still my present.
The name, in context of its origin, is pretty downbeat, but I like it. It also has Manics connotations, and I like that :)

Points if you can tell me where I got my name from.
More points if you can tell me where the MANICS got it from...
(note: I got it from the original)

I'd like to take the opportunity to RE-FriendsOnly this journal. If you're not on my friends list, then all you'll wind up seeing are boring surveys, so...

The Everything Test

There are many different types of tests on the internet today. Personality tests, purity tests, stereotype tests, political tests. But now, there is one test to rule them all.

Traditionally, online tests would ask certain questions about your musical tastes or clothing for a stereotype, your experiences for a purity test, or deep questions for a personality test. We're turning that upside down - all the questions affect all the results, and we've got some innovative results too! Enjoy :-)

Personality
You are more emotional than logical, more concerned about others than concerned about self, more atheist than religious, more dependent than loner, more lazy than workaholic, more traditional than rebel, more artistic mind than engineering mind, more idealist than cynical, more leader than follower, and more introverted than extroverted.

As for specific personality traits, you are intellectual (93%), adventurous (80%), artistic (69%), musical (59%).

Stereotypes
Old Geezer100%
Emo Kid89%
Punk Rock87%

Life Experience
Sex55%
Substances59%
Travel26%

Politics
Your political views would best be described as Liberal, whom you agree with around 59% of the time.
  Socioeconomic
Your attitude toward life best associates you with Lower Middle Class. You make more than 0% of those who have taken this test, and 47% less than the U.S. average.

If your life was a movie, it would be rated R.
By the way, your hottness rank is 55%, hotter than 78% of other test takers.

Hmmm...

I detest the EMO accusation, and I think I'm more musical than that, but everything else is pretty accurate. Hooray!

the LOL of the day

Apologies to the non-dumb Americans on my friends list. You're bringing the IQ average WAAAAY up, there. Good job!

I'm currently reading three books: Possession (by A.S. Byatt, the college Lit text), Candy (by Luke Davies, about heroin/love), and The Turn Of The Screw (a Victorian thriller by Henry James).
My to-read pile reaches my knee.
